NATIONAL
NIGHT OUT 2010
 |
National Night Out against crime on August 3rd
2010, was extremely successful. Wilton Manors Police Officers, Code
Enforcement, City Manager, Mayor, and Police Department Volunteers
drove around the city visiting five (5) separate block parties organized
by various neighborhood groups and residents. We felt this would
be a great way for our Officers (some new) to get to meet our residents,
as well as our residents getting to meet us. We also showed off
some of our departmental equipment such as: the Segway, T3, Police
Bikes, Detective vehicles, Code cars, and our Traffic Enforcement
Cars which were purchased with confiscated funds. We received positive
feedback from the community while making new friends and when visiting
with old acquaintances. The Officers handed out Frisbees, finger
lights, fans, chemical light sticks, and National Night Out wrist
bands to our residents. Officers were able to communicate and get
direct feed back from the community which is what Chief Richard
Perez believes in and instills in his Officers to make a positive
impact against crime and make Wilton Manors a safer place to live.
