The Operations Bureau is the uniformed division of the police department.
It currently consists of one Captain, three Sergeants, nineteen
Police Officers, two Community Service Aides, and four civilian
Desk Officers. The function of the Operations Bureau is to provide
quality law enforcement, maintain a strong partnership with the
community, while providing a safe and secure environment. The patrol
division in under the command of the Operations Captain. The Patrol
Sergeants are responsible for the immediate supervision of that
shift's Patrol Officers and Police Aides. Police Officers respond
to calls for service, work traffic enforcement, initiate arrests,
and perform neighborhood patrols. Police Aides respond to non-criminal
and delayed calls for service along with investigating accidents
and processing crime scenes. Patrol also consists of Youth
Services, K-9 unit, Traffic
unit, Bicycle Patrol, and Marine Patrol.
