Specialized, Reverse911 Computer
System, Allows Police to call Residents for Critical Notifications
or Emergencies Don't be surprised if you get a recorded telephone
call from the Wilton Manors Police Department in the near future.
It's the result of a new community service tool
that has been added by Chief Perez.
Reverse911, a state-of-the-art voice messaging system, will be used
by the City of Wilton Manors to alert residents to local emergencies
including approaching hurricanes, local criminal activity, homeland
security issues, missing persons, evacuation orders and other situations
that require immediate dissemination of critical information.
This unique system can deliver a recorded message
to all the residents in the City within an hour or less and can
target specific geographic areas. The Reverse 911 dialing system
will make three attempts per telephone number and it will even leave
a message on your answering machine if you are not home at the time.
The City will input most residential telephone numbers
based upon our common resources. However, if you would like to confirm
your contact information, or add additional telephone numbers (i.e.
unlisted, cellular, or business numbers) please call the Police
Department at (954) 390-2150 between the hours of 8am until 10pm.
